Daphne Hameeteman

With over 10 years of Sustainability experience within Wilmar, Daphne moved to Kuala Lumpur in August 2024, to become General Manager, Sustainability – External Engagement, for Wilmar International.
Today, Daphne leads the external sustainability conversation with Wilmar’s global stakeholders, aiming to create transparency between sustainability requirements and solutions in our sustainability journey. This includes overlooking Wilmar’s sustainability reporting process, and creation of the annual Sustainability reports. In addition, she is responsible for the Group’s sustainability programmes for non-palm commodities, like Coconut and Sugar.
In Europe, Daphne mainly focused on supplier and customer engagement in food, feed and oleochemicals sectors. She implemented five sustainability (smallholder) support programmes in Latin America, impacting 4500 smallholders and 25 mills. These programs focused on building technical capacity of best agricultural management practices, leading to improved crop yields and income.
In the last 4 years Daphne is deeply engaged on the different EU regulations like the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), and Corporate Social Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and what it means for the palm oil sector, in both the origin and destination countries. In this capacity, she regularly met with politicians and other stakeholders involved, both in Brussels and other member states.
Daphne was member of the board of governors of the RSPO (Roundtable of Sustainable Palm Oil), from 2017 to 2023.
